bought a new HDTV but picture quality on reg cable channels sucks. Will the government switch to ALL DTV help?
I plugged my PS3 into my new TV and the picture quality is AWESOME but the regular channels are actually worse than my old TV was. I know its because I dont have digital tv from the cable company BUT HERES MY ACTUAL QUESTION
When the government switches EVERYONE over to Digital TV, will my cable automatically become digital?
No, the cable companies aren't changing anything for a few years. They will still send out signals in analog. Even when they switch, you won't see real HD unless you have a an HD cable box. Verizon made the switch-over so each tv hooked to Verizon Fios needs to have a converter box (or Qam tuner) but they aren't all HD boxes. You'll need to get an HD box from your cable provider for the TV you want in HD.
