Pioneer PRO-700HD 64 in. Television?
I know nothing about this TV and need to know how the pic quality is compare to today's HD's and how well they hold up. The tv is 8 years old and just need more info before i purchase it.
I was looking around to get the specs but can't find them online. So, we have to go by memory (not a good thing, watch for the smoke). When this set first came out it was the best commercially available HDTV and it had an amazing picture. I believe it's HD compatible which means you need a HD cable or sat box. It's CRT based with 720P resolution. No hdmi connection but it may have a dvi. I'm sure it has several component video inputs though.
The picture quality should still be superb (with an hd signal and better than LCD with a standard def signal). I would use a bluray or upscaling Dvd Player for the best picture.
I'm sure you already know that it's a monster size wise (the main reason they stopped making crt Rear Projection) but it should be a great tv. After 8 years, it won't be as bright as when new but should still be bright enough. Most people aren't interested in these due to the size so you should be able to negotiate a good price.
