Projector Ceiling
trying to wall/Ceiling Mount a desktop projector?
I have a Proxima DP5900 desktop projector. The only way to get a big enough picture (I have a 84"x84" screen) is to mount it to the wall/ceiling.
anybody have any ideas?
I am thinking about hanging it from the ceiling (like a flower pot) and also mounting it to the wall.
I might connect a piece of plywood to a 2x4 and make a hanging basket from it (just to take some of the weight off of the ceiling)

You don't want it hanging from a single rope or cable as this will allow it to rock or wobble.
I would suggest a 3/4 inch thick plywood shelf hanging from the ceiling with metal supports on each corner.
I would guess that an electronics store might sell something like this ready to go but it will probably be a bit expensive.
If you go for the wall hanging I'd use a set of adjustable shelf supports that mount to a pair of rails that attach to the wall. These are available from hardware stores, my shelves use this system and it came from Lowes.
In the end you whichever system you pick it will be important that it be stable and attractive. Take your time and don't rush.
