Video Game lag on dlp?
When ever I play any video game on my RCA DLP it lags. It's ridiculous that I cant play games on this sweet 61" screen. I've heard that I should make sure my 360 or ps3 is on the "native" resolution but I dont even know what the native resolution is and I really dont know if that'll work either. Any help?
Ok, first off there is little help that can be provided when it comes to your TV without the model number, RCA makes a 61" DPL that does 720p and they make some that go up to 1080p. Are you going through an HDMI or Component, not composite, cable, if not that could be the problem, Composite cables (Y/W/R) are the slowest cable out there, and they are cheap when it comes to the signal they give, basically they transfer the signal from the device to your TV at whatever speed they can handle, they are not much good for HD of any sort in my opinion, and probably are really more suited for a play back device over say a device that is real time, like a game system, at HD signal rates. If you are running through component cables or HDMI you might try going into the game systems directly and telling them to run at 1080p, then 1080i, then 720p, if it gives you an error such as, unsupported signal, you know your native resolution is lower than that. The thing with the 360 and PS3 is they do usually choose the right resolution for you, but I've heard of this sort of problem occuring before and changing the settings on the system to only be the native resolution of your TV works much better than letting the system choose for you, even if your native is 1080p.
