Samsung Hdtv has a purple haze/tint over everything...?
The TV is a Samsung 30 Inch Hdtv Slimfit...
I went to sleep last night and everything was fine, I set my sleep timer on my TV so that it would turn itself out in 1 hour. I woke up this morning, turn my TV on, and it all has a purple tint over the picture and it can't really be fixed by working the color settings.
I tried it on regular cable, thinking it might just be my reception, but it's the same purple tint when I switch over to my PS3.
I don't know anything about TV maintenance, did a bulb go bad or something?
Can't be that, it has always worked fine, and it's like REALLY purple. I'm thinking maybe a certain color went out and it's causing a distortion, it's really bad.
The purple haze phenomenon you’re seeing on your Samsung Lcd Tv has been reported and documented on several Websites including the AV Science forum listed below. From what I’ve gathered your first step should be to try adjusting the display settings. Under some circumstances the problem was eliminated only after replacing the mainboard of the display; of course this requires an in-home service call or service at a factory authorized service center. If these steps fail to remedy the problem then your only remaining option is to replace the TV.
