Where can I find a Atsc Tuner to hook up to my regular television?
I just want a device that does the same thing as the integrated ATSC tuners built in Lcd Television. I want this device in the external format not through a dvd recorder. Does this exist and where is the cheapest place to find one?
I need this so my regular tv can receive all possible HD channels for free. These turners for some reason are hard to find non-integrated into a tv.
My tv is HD compatible but my channels are limited since I don't have a Digital Tuner: ATSC.
These come built in lcd's now a days and for some reason they're hard to find individually.
(Note: "ATSC" tuners are for over the air antenna signals only. Digital cable systems usually use "QAM")

E-bay and amazon.com There is not enough demand for external HD ATSC tuners to find them in stores anymore.
I assume that by "HD compatible", you mean that it has at least a 720p screen. If it doesn't have a high resolution screen, you just need a converter box. The cheap over the air converter boxes include an ATSC tuner and can receive all digital over the air broadcasts.

A couple of years ago the answer would have been simple, just buy a Samsung DTB-H260F at Best Buy. But this was discontinued and used ones are expensive on ebay.
For the price of a used DTB-H260F, you can buy a new Dish DTVPal DVR that includes an HD ATSC tuner & DVR.
If you want to spend less, there are tuners like the Coby DTV-140.
If you don't want to spend that much and have a small screen, you could buy a converter box like the Zenith/Insignia model. The tuners in these will pick up all the HD broadcasts. But the output is 480i so you would only want to do this with a small screen TV.
And last, if you are in an area that gets nice clean signals, you could buy a used older model like the Samsung SIR-T451.
